Even the game's mechanics have been altered to fit the retro style, as The Penitent One must track down five golden skulls and defeat a new boss to earn rewards. Boss Rush Mode runs are given a score based on factors, with medals awarded for putting in a qualifying performance.Ī ‘Demake Area’ will also be added, paying homage to classic 8-bit platformers with a linear experience and reimagined graphics, played within an arcade cabinet hidden away in a secret area of Cvstodia. The mode ramps up the level of challenge “to new heights”, as you take on the bosses you've encountered thus far via any of your save files.

The free ‘Strife & Ruin’ update will also add Boss Rush Mode, unlocked upon completing Blasphemous' main storyline. Blasphemous is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
That same update also added the Classic Mode to the game. During the new quest, you'll collect shards to repair Miriam's portal to transport her back home, and once you've successfully completed your mission, a special reward awaits. It added a new area for Miriam to explore in Gebel’s castle. Blasphemous is set to cross over with 505 and ArtPlay's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night later this week, Team17 and The Game Kitchen have announced, bringing Miriam to the realm of Cvstodia, as she seeks help from The Penitent One.
